Date: Thursday, March 13, 2014 Time: 1:00 pm – 3:00 pm (EST)
Youth Justice and Strategic Initiatives at Justice Canada wishes to highlight a pilot intervention program delivered by Youturn Youth Support Services (formerly knows as the Eastern Ontario Youth Justice Agency (EOYJA)) aimed at meeting the needs of justice involved youth who are also parents.
Attendees will learn about how Youturn collaborated with the St. Mary’s Home, an Ottawa-based social service agency that serves young pregnant women and young parents, for programming to specifically address the needs of criminally-involved youth, primarily young men, who are parents or have taken on a parental role.
Youturn will speak to the results of their programming, what they learned about the need of specialized programming for young fathers, and how to engage parenting youth.
